Polyurethane experts believe that the flame retardant and environment-friendly high-performance polyurethane developed by the company has excellent flame retardancy and environmental performance, which has driven the industry's technological progress, promoted China's polyurethane industry to the middle and high end, and helped China's automobile quality improvement and aviation development.

"With its excellent characteristics, the polyurethane soft foam developed by Liming Institute can be used in seats, cushions, headrests and other parts of aircraft, trains, cars and other transportation vehicles. We have become the exclusive supplier of polyurethane raw materials for interior trim parts such as Yutong Bus (8.010, 0.01, 0.12%) T7 car seats, serving large events such as the National People's Congress and the Boao Forum for Asia," Zhao Xiuwen said.

It is reported that in order to realize the transformation of Yutong Bus T7 from ordinary interior to environment-friendly high-quality interior, the company's polyurethane data development project has been combined into a substance with a cavity structure. The hydrophobic cavity can envelop organic molecules, inhibit the volatilization of benzene and aldehydes, and reduce the total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) by 47%. They also combined the formula technology of the low odor rapid reaction system to make the foam odor level of the product better than the level of 3.0. After using this product, when the window is closed, the passengers of Yutong Bus said that they did not smell the smell.

At the same time, the project team independently designed and synthesized a nitrogen containing structural flame retardant polyether polyol - polyurea polyol. The polyol does not contain halogens, and achieves flame retardancy through nitrogen. It does not contain bromine smoke and droppings. The combustion smoke generation is small. The oxygen index of the foam reaches more than 28%, and the smoke density is only 3.6, which meets the high-end positioning requirements of Yutong T7 for suppliers.

It is worth mentioning that the project team has developed composite polyurethane memory cotton foam technology. With self-designed polyether polyol with high epoxyethane content as the main component, through screening the pore opening agent and matching the highly active foam stabilizer, they can obtain low temperature sensitive memory cotton with density less than 55kg/m3 and oxygen index greater than 25%. The memory cotton has the characteristics of good shape memory, low dependence on index, non-sticking and fatigue resistance. At present, this product is widely used in China and can improve the ride comfort of passengers.

"The data of flame-retardant and environment-friendly high-performance polyurethane has been affirmed in the industry. The project has applied for seven invention patents, five of which have been authorized, and won the third prize of China Petroleum (4.960, -0.02, -0.40%) and the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chemical Industry Federation. Over the past three years, the company has sold more than 17000 tons of products, with significant economic benefits."
